Annabelle D. Humphreys

	Annabelle D. Humphreys, 79, of Elkville, died at 2:40 a.m. Sunday, April 9, 2000 at the Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin.
	Mrs. Humphreys was born August 10, 1920 in Adair County, MO to Manford Clay and Sarah Ann (Littrel) Downen.
	She married Edward Humphreys June 15, 1947 in Kirksville, Mo.  He survives in Ellkville.
	Other survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Larry Glasco of Metropolis, Linda and Howard Scott of Eldorado and Susan and Doug Cage of Eminence, MO; a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Sondra Humphreys of Benton; seven grandchildren, Becky Otte, Liz Abby and Josh Cage, Angie May and Megan and Afton Glasco; two step-grandchildren, Tim and Matt Scott; a brother and sister-in-law, Clayford and Ruth Downen of Lady Lake, FL; a brother-in-law and his wife, Bob and Bette Humphreys of Elkville; a sister-in-law, Mary Humphreys of Louisville, KY and many nieces and nephews.
	She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Matthew Glasco; one brother, two half-brothers and one half-sister.
	Mrs. Humphreys was a member of the First Christian Church in Royalton where she taught Bible School for many years.
	She retired from the Housekeeping Department at Carbondale Clinic after approximately 14 years of employment.
	Funeral services for Mrs. Humphreys were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 12 at Vantrease Funeral Home in Royalton with Brother Jack Smith and Brother Ron Henwood officiating.
	Burial was at Miners Cemetery east of Royalton.  Visiting hours were from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
	Memorial donations in memory of Mrs. Humphreys may be made to the Southern Illinois Christian Service Camp in West Frankfort.
